St Andrews Oldest Coaching Inn

21 beautiful modern bedrooms, including two suites and 6 luxury bedrooms, The Inn at Lathones in Fife on the east coast of Scotland has become well known for its award winning food and has been awarded 2 AA rosettes for the 12th consecutive year along with VisitScotland's Gold award for service quality 2009.

The main part of the Inn has a cosy cocktail bar /lounge with a fantastic old stables that is a private function room or conference suite.

The walls are adorned with one of the most comprehensive collections of music memorabilia in the UK today. It creates an amazing atmosphere for small intimate weddings that are held at the Inn - we have a civil licence. When it's not in use for all these special functions it becomes home to the R.A.T.S (Rocking at the Stables) - which was recently named "The UK's best music venue 2009"  by The Publican, where we play host to some of the great names in today's music industry.

 21st Century bedrooms at a 16th Century Inn

2007 saw the final phase of our bedroom development being completed. The "Smithy's and Coachman's bedrooms" were completed last year with a major refurbishment that saw new larger bathrooms for all the smithy's rooms along with a modern design with Italian furniture and all the comfort you would expect from a 4 star Inn.

The Inn at Lathones opened the "Old Forge" in July 2007 which comprises of six deluxe bedroomswith large bathrooms, and two suites on the 1st floor.

This design allows groups of friends to take one suite and  3 deluxe bedrooms as  their own private area  that would give them their own lounge and bar area to meet in.  

We have also started offering the Inn as an exclusive use option for private parties as we have a number of options with the Old Forge coming on line. Pick up the phone and give us a call or drop us an e-mail.

We have listened to our clients for the last 6 months and have taken on board all that we have been told, so we have started new menus featuring much less formal dining, with less expensive menus new oak tables in the restaurant higher tables in the bar areas for bar food. The menus also allow for bar suppers or just the oportunity to curl up on a deep leather sofa and have a bowl of Lasagne of roasted Vegetables! Mmh!

Slow cooking at the Inn

Wow!

The feed back we receive is great, in a recent article written by Kate Grimes of the Scotland on Sunday Newspaper, when asked about what the food is like, she said "in a word fabulous!"

Since we have added the new bedrooms on to the Inn the restaurant is filling most days of the week which is making booking a must. Local produce features even more heavily than before and our membership to the Scottish Beef Club ensure we are able to purchase only the very best beef as we are with all our products.

We have also been instrumental in re-starting the Scottish Chaine des Rotisseurs, a club that goes back to the 12^th century and have thousands of members world wide. www.chainedecosse.com Its an ideal club for anyone who is looking to make new friends and has a love food and wine in a fun and non-formal environment.
